W:O:A Polesitting
Are you worthy to win amazing prizes by Marshall, Vintage Amps, MM Media, Woodbrass.com as well as a place in front of the first row of Metalheads at Wacken?
Are you worthy, to take the challenge for a good cause and participate in the first pole sitting championship at this year´s Wacken Open Air?
Polesitting?
That´s right! This long-standing tradition will take place for the first time as a contest in Wacken. Till 2003 there existed an annually world championship – the world record until today is held by the polish Daniel Baraniuk with 196 days!
Rules:
After all participants have taken their places on the poles (which are 2,5 meters height), they are only allowed to leave them during the 10-minutes lasting breaks which are allowed every two hours. Certainly you don´t have to stay on the poles for 196 days but for 6 hours!
To make sure that you won´t miss anything from the festival we will position the poles at the Wacken Center with viewing direction infield.
Donation:
Our sponsors will donate money for each participant and each hour they withstand on the poles. The donations go to the Wacken Foundation (more info at www.wacken-foundation.com) which takes care about funding and support of young talents in music business. That means the longer you stay on the poles the more money will be donated for the Wacken Foundation.
Prizes:
Each daily winner will get amazing prizes from our sponsors as well as a place in the photographer´s pit during a concert of our choice following that days competition.
The pole sitting competition will take place daily from Wednesday to Friday. Schedule: 2 times a day – from 10:00 to 16:00 H and from 16:30 to 22:30 H. So please write us on which day and time you would prefer to participate.
So are you hard enough? Show has that you have an ass out of steel and write an application e-mail with your complete name, e-mail and participation time to polesitting@wacken.com
