Pay with your Blood Kick-Off Event in Hamburg!

On Saturday, September 13, Wacken Open Air and the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) are calling for blood donations. At the kick-off event of the “Pay with your Blood” campaign, donors will receive a ticket for the Heaven Shall Burn Tour 2026 – tickets available while supplies last.

The campaign will take place at eight participating blood donation centers across Germany.

As a special guest, Lord of the Lost will be on site that day: the Dark Rock band will not only donate blood themselves, but also perform an exclusive acoustic set.

The campaign is also supported by guitarist VanSteef, as well as the Wacken Foundation and Metality e.V., who will host additional activities on site.

Of course, people who cannot, may not, or do not want to donate are also warmly invited.

A special highlight awaits W:O:A 2025 visitors in Hamburg and Berlin. This year, UKE Hamburg and the ZTB of Berlin’s Charité were present together on the Holy Ground to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation. Donors who show their W:O:A 2025 festival wristband at UKE Hamburg or the Charité’s ZTB will receive, in addition to the ticket (in the respective city) for Heaven Shall Burn, a limited edition “Blood Donor” T-shirt.

Despite all these great activities, the most important thing remains: donating blood can save lives!
