METAL HAMMER AWARD IN Wacken

Dear Metalheads,

finally, WACKEN:OPEN:AIR 2009, the world´s biggest heavy metal festival once again opens its gates (07/30/09 –08/01/09). This year presented by METAL HAMMER too. Last year, 70.000 fans, from all over the world attended the unique festival. As this year´s W:O:A has been sold out since december, a press of people to a greater extent is expexted this year.

Due to the W:O:A (20th) and METAL HAMMER (25th) anniversary, there is going to be a special event on 07/30/09: For the very first time in Germany, METAL HAMMER will award the METAL HAMMER-Awards, on the true metal stage. Divided in two blocks, the lucky winners will be awarded live in 12 categories:

• Best album

• Best debut

• Best German band

• Best international band

• Metal legend

• Riff-god

• Breakthrough artists

• Best online presence

• Best fan accessibility

• Metal-hymne 2009

• Maximum metal-band

We were fortunate to get Sabine Classen (lead singer “Holy Moses”, among others)!
