Massive rain in the North of Germany: Arrivals for W:O:A temporarily interrupted
Bad weather sometimes happens at festivals. Rain or shine. But rarely to this extent. The camping areas are currently impassable. For this reason, we have to interrupt the arrival to W:O:A for this reason. However, the preparations for the festival are proceeding as planned.
If you are already on your way to us:
Please stop your journey and find a suitable waiting spot where you are right now until we can inform you that the situation has improved. Additionally, we are searching for suitable alternative areas where you can potentially spend the night.
IMPORTANT: Currently, we have the parking lot „Parkplatz Rot“ am Volksparkstadion Hamburg available for you (Exit Volkspark; GPS: Hellgrundweg 45B, 22525 Hamburg).
For all fans in the shuttle and airport buses: There will a separate routing to the festival groundsfor you. Please have a little more patience.
If you haven’t startet yet:
Please postpone your journey. As soon as the situation eases, we will inform you through all our channels (Wacken-App, website, social media, Radio Bob SH & Wacken Radio).
If you are already on the festival grounds:
Due to the extremely heavy rainfall, we might not be able to use all the planned camping areas later if water remains on some of the fields. To accommodate all metalheads, we kindly ask you to make the best use of the available areas and fill them up as much as possible. In short: Please move closer together. Thank you.
Unfortunately, we have to assume that we can only bring a maximum of 25% of the vehicles planned for today to the designated areas. We thank you in advance for your understanding, and we know that together we will manage it this year as well.
