Green Wacken – The Results of the Ballot Bin Survey

11/20/2025

Do you remember all those either-or questions you saw on our Ballot Bins (voting ashtrays) at W:O:A this year?
Today we finally have the results – and they’re really exciting!

The questions & winners (in bold):

  • Beer vs. Liquor
  • Highway to Hell vs. Stairway to Heaven
  • Guitar vs. Drums
  • Crowdsurfing vs. Mosh Pit
  • Tent vs. Camper
  • Your W:O:A souvenir: Rubber Duck vs. Plush Cow
  • Drones vs. Fireworks
  • Your W:O:A motto: Rain or Shine vs. Faster, Harder, Louder
  • Power Metal vs. Thrash Metal
  • Death Metal vs. Black Metal (tied)

And now the hard facts:

  • A total of 20 Ballot Bins were installed.
  • 3.1 kg of cigarette butts were collected and recycled – that’s about 12,400 cigarettes that didn’t end up on the ground!
  • Each cigarette butt can pollute up to 1,000 liters of water – you potentially protected 12,400,000 liters of water.

Thank you to everyone who took part!
You didn’t just make it for fun – you also did something great for the environment.

PS: Not smoking at all is, of course, even better — but what isn’t yet can still happen.

Your
W:O:A team
