Arrival & Routes:
You get according to your Access Pass, a route description in your inbox from Wacken Ticketcenter.
Please be aware of the highway for your route.
NOTE: The Schenefeld junction 7 from the A23 is reserved for emergency vehicles, delivery traffic, and buses only.
Switch off your navigation device as soon as you exit the highway. And focus only on roadside signage and digital displays.
The instructions of the W:O:A Traffic Control and Stewards must be followed at all times!
Allow enough time for your journey and make sure you have water, drinks and snacks in the car. Also take a power bank with you, so that you never run out of power to ensure receiving important push notifications via our W:O:A app.
The police of Schleswig-Holstein will post the current traffic situation at regular intervals. You can follow the police of Schleswig-Holstein onX (formerly Twitter), Facebook or Instagram.
During the entire journey to W:O:A, remember to create emergency corridors as soon as you hear or see arriving emergency vehicles and allow space to pass.
Arrival by Public Transportation:
Whenever possible, take advantage of bus and train offers!
Our W:O:A shuttle bus takes you from Itzehoe train station to Wacken Open Air - and back again. You pay €15 once and can ride as often as you want.
If you already ride with the W:O:A shuttle bus on Sunday, you can use the shuttle bus for the entire period for free.
Tickets are available directly at the bus station in Itzehoe or here in the Wacken Ticketcenter.
On Site
Remember to have your valid Access Pass and your tickets or barcodes ready to show and scan (whether digitally on your mobile phone or printed out) - searching for tickets means stress for you and unnecessary waiting times for everyone else.
Please follow the instructions of the Stewards and use the allocated place and area. When parking and setting up the tents, make sure to occupy only as much space as you need for your equipment!
Questions about the festival can be answered after you have parked your vehicle.
Please note that the visitor, parking and camping regulations must be observed in all areas.
Our Parking Regulations:
We create two rows of parked vehicles and between these vehicles there is free space for your tents and camping equipment - the corridor that results serves as a traffic and rescue corridor for you and the emergency services!
Please keep the traffic and emergency corridors clear - otherwise you will be towed away. The traffic and rescue corridors are marked with barrier tape (red/white stripes).
If help is delayed because emergency services cannot reach the scene of an accident on time, accident victims may die or suffer lifelong health impacts or disabilities.
Cabs:
You can find cabs at the bus station (please note the new location of the bus station below Residenz Evil on the map). Unfortunately, there are some fraudster among the cabs every year - so pay attention to our stickers on the authorized cabs and compare the prices with the posted price list.
Don't set any fixed prices, if you have any problems, contact the crew at the bus station.
Tractors:
Private tractors have repeatedly caused extensive damage to property on the W:O:A, which is why their use is no longer permitted.
Caravan & Trailers:
Please note that vehicles and trailers over 3.5 tons represent a considerable additional effort for us, especially in poor ground conditions.
Vehicles weighing 7.5 tons or more must register with us in advance.
We can´t guarantee the access of vehicles of that size and reserve the right to deny access to the site depending on space conditions.
Weather:
The weather is mixed.
Please always pay attention to our current information about the weather situation and switch on the push notifications and the location function in our W:O:A app.
Remember to bring weatherproof clothing and sunscreen with you.
Make sure you have your tow hook ready to save time in an emergency.
Safety Feature of the W:O:A App:
Help us to get you safe and fast on the Holy Ground by activating the function “LOCATION” in our app.
You will find it in the settings of the W:O:A app.
We appreciate your support and we wish you a good and safe trip.
See you in Wacken - Rain or Shine!
Your
W:O:A team
