Door No. 13 of the W:O:A X-Mas Calendar is all about sustainability!

Todays door is all about sustainability

Today we are giving away 5 backpacks from the company Bag Up from Hamburg, which were made from our hoarding banners from previous years. Each piece is individually designed. You can also buy more copies here: Wacken Open Air bags made from festival banners - BagUp Hamburg

At this point we would also like to draw attention to a few other great organizations and campaigns.

Wilderness International – Wacken Community Forest

Metal for Nature: Safe the rainforest together!

In 2024, together with Wilderness International, we will continue to protect one of the most valuable habitats on earth: the tropical rainforest in the Amazon region of Peru. The protected area along the Tambopata River is home to countless species of plants and animals, from three-toed sloths to rare species of caiman.

Every euro counts: With just 1 € donation you protect one square meter of forest and secure 60 kg of CO₂ in the living biomass in the long term. As a thank you for your support, you will receive a personalized certificate with the exact coordinates of your protected forest area. So you can see exactly where your donation works.

Hanseatic Help

Wacken Open Air and the non-profit organization Hanseatic Help have had a strong partnership for years. After our fans have left, Hanseatic Help collects sleeping bags, sleeping mats and tents from across the festival grounds in order to pass them on to people in need. But that's not enough!

Be it humanitarian aid in crisis areas or direct support for disadvantaged groups in Germany - Hanseatic Help is committed to aid transport, the free distribution of clothing and everyday items, supports expectant mothers and children on their way into life, and advocates for more participation in everyday life and professional life and much more.

We would like to support this work together with you - your donation can ensure that hundreds of people can continue to have a better life in the future.
