Departure information for W:O:A 2023

[Translate to Englisch:]
Created by WackenHelge

Dear Metalheads,
we want to prepare you for the departure under these special circumstances just in time. In order to manage this last collective effort, we rely on your help and support!

Before you start, we would like to ask you to leave your place clean and tidy. The annual amount of garbage not only pollutes the environment, but also costs a lot of money and effort to remove.

In advance, drivers should make sure that the car can be started. On Sunday, everyone wants to talk to the ADAC. Please make sure that your vehicle is free of mud and soil residues as far as possible.
If possible, choose a departure time outside of peak traffic hours - especially use the low-traffic early morning hours on Sunday.

As always, you should only drive sober and rested. The police will be carrying out checks in the surrounding area.

Naturally, we want to ensure that the majority of you will be able to leave the areas with your own power on Sunday. For this purpose, we will prepare the main access roads to and from the areas as far as possible, so that you can leave independently with your vehicle. If possible, drive around large wet spots and help each other with manpower if someone gets stuck.

Please adapt your driving style to the conditions on the campgrounds and drive slowly and carefully.

Please also make sure that you have your tow hooks ready and - if necessary - already mounted, in case nothing works anymore. There is always the possibility of rain. Therefore, we assume that we will have to pull many of you out of the mud by tractor to the exits of the areas, just as we did for the arrival. In that case, please be patient. This service is free of charge to you. The tractors are marked as official production vehicles. Anyone using the service will be required to sign a letter stating that the drivers are not liable for any damage to the vehicle.

If you feel that there is no way you can get off the parking area, get help.

NAVI OFF! Follow the instructions of the stewards at the campgrounds, the traffic control and the police - they will show you the best way. We will be using both the A23 and A7 for our southbound departure. In order to avoid traffic jams as best as possible, it is important that not everyone ends up on the same highway. Therefore, follow the exit signs and don't turn on the navigation sysem until you are on the highway!

Of course, we will also take any metalhead off the site who wants to drive home before Sunday. So a departure on Saturday evening makes, under these circumstances, quite sense.

Metalheads who have arrived by camper or caravan and are accommodated at the camper park should especially plan a little more time for the departure.

If you are picked up, please inform your contact person that it is not possible to drive up to the festival area. We kindly ask you to use the signposted Kiss n Ride day parking area in Gribbohm on Dorfstraße and the boarding point in Holstenniendorf on Kirchenweg.

Information about the shuttle buses will be announced soon.

W:O:A Team
