5 new bands for Wacken Open Air 2020

Today we present you a number of new confirmations for the upcoming festival as part of our Wacken Open Air 2020 Haab' calendar. All information, announcements, articles and more from the Haab' calendar can be found here.

Today we announce the following bands:

The legendary German Metal singer Udo "the German Tank" Dirkschneider comes to Wacken in 2020 for two very special concerts! Under the Dirkschneider banner he will review the complete Accept cult album Metal Heart from 1985, which is one of the most important albums of his career, in an exclusive show on the occasion of the 35th album anniversary. He also promises a big surprise for the show!

In addition, he and his main band U.D.O. will once again perform with the music corps of the German Armed Forces - the combination, which at first glance seems unusual, already thrilled us at the Wacken Open Air 2015. After another concert in Elspe in 2018, the third collaboration of the more than 100 musicians of U.D.O. and the German Armed Forces will happen at Wacken in 2020. By the way: A joint album with exclusively new songs will also be released in mid 2020!

The fact that the German power metal power Orden Ogan is working on a new album too is not yet confirmed, but a look at the previous release cycle suggests this - but even without new material the return of Orden Ogan at W:O:A is long overdue.

British Metalcore is in season and that goes for hardly any other band as much as for While She Sleeps from Sheffield. When the band played for the first and only time in Wacken in 2016, they only brought material from 2 albums - today the number of albums has doubled and the number of fans has exploded on astronomical scales.

The Norwegian Pagan Black Metallers from Kampfar are always welcome guests in Wacken, because even after a quarter of a century of band history the band's music still hits a nerve with the fans. After a lengthy break, the musicians have returned this year with a power demonstration with their new album Ofidians Manifest - we look forward to their return to our stages!
