Epitaph Sir Henry Hot

Created by WackenTom
11/02/2021

We mourn the passing of our friend Hinrich Joachims, probably better known to you as Sir Henry Hot.

From the late nineties onwards, he designed and implemented second-to-none fire installations. Since 2011, among other things, he has been responsible for the implementation of Wasteland, but other renowned festivals have also secured his services time and again.

Henry was a visionary and passionate innovator. He developed many of his fixtures himself, even resorting to state-of-the-art robotics. We will never forget the moment when we were first allowed to meet him in person on the Holy Ground. His reputation may have preceded him, but the fact that he partially uncovered the roof of a nearby building during the very first test, as well as causing glasses and showcases in the wider area to shatter, made a lasting impression on everyone involved. Because from that moment on it was clear: This is exactly where Sir Henry Hot belongs. Also because for him, safety came before spectacle.

Our thoughts are with his family, his friends and his fantastic team. We hope that Henry's creations will continue to light up the sky above Wacken for many years to come.

Give them good hell up there, Henry! We will miss you.

Holger, Thomas and the whole W:O:A team.
